History
Želodec was first mentioned in 1620, when subjects of Ljubljana’s bishop Tomaž Hren (position 1598-1630) from Nazarje sent their superior a winter shipment of meat to the Styrian capital Graz.
The attached note included the word “želodec”.
Two historically proven fans of želodec
The English King George V. and the Old Yugoslavian King Aleksander Karađorđević.
After a day of hunting in 1932 the two kings visited hotel Plesnik in Logar Valley, where they were served želodec.
King George V. liked it so much, he ordered regular shipments of želodec to London’s Royal Court for several years in advance.
